Today is the day!!!
Turned around to look at the past 2 years, dint even realize they passed by. A walk down the memory lane...
The hunt for apartment and
rush for course registrations
thats where the craziness started
and it still doesnt feel shy
The struggle to wake up on the alarm
snooze it up, all the while
the queue for the bathroom
have the cereal breakfast, dont waste time
The run to the shuttle-stop
the 15 min precious sleep on the shuttle
Those night outs in Bell
the caffeine shots to keep u awake
but still the inevitable sleep in class
the lecturer never failed to induce
The burden of algos assignments
last minute project submissions
the rejoice on its completion
its not over yet, have an exam tomorrow
The lunches at Cedar or Putnams
the studying together at Northrup
special delicacies served at Custer
B'day cakes, the unplanned fun whenever
The long wait for weekends
movies, cricket and f1 races
the pot-luck dinners
or darshan at the temple
The visits to Niagara Falls
or Marina or just Baird Point
those long drives around Buffalo
or just walks in the snow
Rotating cooking turns amongst roomies
or grocery to cart every weekend
the laziness to do ur laundary
the tension to pay ur bills
Diwali and Holi GISA night celebrations
Ganpati at Winspear, the Garba fun
the infrequent parties at Chippewa
or be it bowling at Tonawanda
Resort to desimedia, limewire or bollygrounds
music from apna DC++
southpark episodes on youtube
or funny videos on google
The frolic on road-trips
treks, skiing and water-sports
the photo-sessions galore
the anecdotes unforgettable
Stayed together, shared together
laughs and tears, the success and pain
Today is the day I graduate
dunno where life will take off from here...

some relli fond memories - the 2 yrs in buffalo.
When we come...we curse the place...the snow...nothing out thr apart frm niagara etc...
but when we leave, it's always with a heavy heart.
and comin back to buffalo gives a relli good nostalgic feeling.
enjoy your remaining stay in buffalo. I am sure its gonna be a short one... enjoy while it lasts.
congrats on your graduation!!!
and best wishes for a wonderful (or shud I say) and even more wonderful life ahead in the bay area, seattle, NYC or any other part of the world it may be.
Gotta agree to each and every word of this post ..
sumedh summed it up well .. 'u leave with a heavy heart' ... i would say u leave ur heart there ... the days in buffalo are never gonna be back again ... but the memories would always be with me ...
even after more than a year of leaving buffalo, theres not a single day tht i have not thought about my life there and all those who made the stay ... something to cherish about thru my life.
Wonderfully expressed, makes one feel nostalgic all the more and takes down memory lane !!! Your blogs are quite natural ...
@sumedh: U r right... its the nostalgia. The feeling of coming back to ur home, ur maayka :-)
Thanx for ur wishes :)
@sumit: U ought to agree ;)
Some cherished moments become a ripple in the stream of ur memories. Impossible to erase 'em of ur mind, ur heart
@hiren: Thanx :) Also, for dropping by...
Well, I have been following your blogs for quite some time now. I had hit upon ur profile in orkut through Valmik's & Pejus's scrap book and then to your blog page.
As I mentioned earlier, they seem very natural ... the kinds to which one can easily relate to ... the straight from the heart types ...
And yes, Congratulations for your graduation and wish yaa all the best for your future endeavours.
Keep Blogging.
Bye!!!
Couldn't agree more....and don't want to write a lot here...otherwise it will be a long story, may be longer than the post....;)
But sure, you've hardly anytime left in Buffalo, so enjoy each and every second here, before you finally fly out....
I'll be very very sad the day you will leave Buffalo...
Anyways, Good Luck and Good Life....
And don't forget us...;)
the most difficult thing to do is let go and move on. After an year away & I still can't do it :D
That's why feel nostalgia everytime I meet ppl from Buffalo or just remember the good ol' days.
nice blog, a good song to go along would be "purani jeans" or "summer of 69"
@chintan: another suggestion for a song - Yaaron, OST: Rockford, sung by KK
@praveer: excellent suggestion ... strange, I missed it completely.
@Hiren: All I wud call u is "surreptitious reader"
Thanx for ur wishes :-)
@Kaushal: Yup, sometimes silence speaks more than words :-)
Thanx for ur wishes...!
Btw, I'm not leaving as yet, & gayi toh kya will b there to Pakau u forever ;)
@Chintan: Yup, its very difficult to let go :(
'Purani Jeans' was the song I was listening to that day coincidently
@Praveer: Yup, 'Yaaron' is a classic too
Congratulations!
@harsha: Thanx :)
