Think about this...

These were the words told to me, which I'll never forget. And they are absolutely true.

In happiness, the whole world is by your side to raise a toast...
True friends are the ones who stand by you in your rough times.

Its a good food for thought. Try be there, when they need you the most! :-)

hmm...true. but it is a fact of life, which we cant do much about.

what we need to do is to identify who those "true friends" are, and strive to maintain those relationships

@Praveer: Yup, never let them go! :-)

@anonymous: Thats the whole thing. Such chances come once in a while. Dont miss the opportunity to prove how much you care. There maybe circumstances when you may not be able to help, but try ur best. Its every step that counts!
Also, it'd b better if u cud show ur true identity

hmm, interesting thoughts.

I think "rough times" are hard to define. When the world disagrees with your point-of-view and is in conflict with you, would this qualify as a "rough time"? A true friend in such times need not necessarily support you but is a bold person who will argue against you if he/she doesn't concur to your opinion or, will listen to your arguments and, if convinced, will persuade the rest of the world for you.

I think, "stand by you" should not always mean "agree with you".

just my thoughts.

@Chintan: By "stand by you" I definitely dont mean "agree with you". Its more like "help you find a way out".
