alone I can only smile but together we can laugh,
alone I can only live but together we can celebrate,
that's being friends…
Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget. It starts with an aquaintance, goes on to Hi's & Hello's , takes one step ahead to daily conversations. Then maybe a phone call a day... and u wouldn't realize when it blossomed into this beautiful flower named 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S.H.I.P' which now u think is the best thing that happened to you. Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything. Once found never lost, ... once found, treasured forever.
A friend is someone who can see the truth and pain in you even when you are fooling everyone else. A true friend is someone who is there for you when they would rather be someplace else. Your friends will know you better in the first minute you meet than your acquaintances will know you in a thousand years. A friend is someone with whom you dare to be yourself.
When you're looking for a friend don't look for perfection, just look for friendship. When a friend is in trouble, don't annoy him by asking if there is anything you can do, think up something appropriate and do it. The road to a friend's house is never long. The secret to friendship is being a good listener. True friendship comes when silence between two people is comfortable. Friendship can speak a lot of words, even when unsaid.
Love is precious, but a friend is the one who never fails to disappoint you. And to find his/her love in the friend, is the priviledge of a fortunate few.

oye....acquaintance ka funda mere se dhapa kya??? ;) waise... right now..apan dono 3rd step pe hain, lagta hain. daily conversations...on orkut though :)
i tend to disagree on the once found, never lost concept...coz i hv seen friendships being broken or shud i say, drowned, over some small fights..a la DCH style. well..in DCH they came bak...so it was more of a once found..then lost...then found again.
anyways...a good post.
I beg to differ on 'once found, never lost'. What I mean is... even though you have fights, its just impossible to forget that friend. U'll remember him/her for life, however the intimacy level may change. And if I have an opportunity... wouldn't fail to patch up.
For me, friendship persists for life.
first of all - nicely written post.
to me, whatever is written there, can be agreed upon and can always be challenged. if u remeber the email that i sent 'best days of our lives', as time passes - priorities change and so do the friends. your old friends will always be there for you, but you may not be as close as you used to be once upon a time.
and yes, it does persist for a life time.
in an ideal world...it will persist for life...
there will be fights...there will be patch-ups...and everything would be hunky-dory.
and friendship mite mean diff to diff ppl. rite?? so, in cases of a fight.. there will be instances, when one does cherish the friendship...and misses his/her friend and sorts everything out.
but there will be cases, where 2 ego's will come in between...and will say... Why should I go and sort it out...it wasnt my mistake, that it happened this way?
these are cases, when some didnt understand wht true friendship meant... but these do occur. :)
Apt definitions...
"The road to a friend's place is never too long!"...very very true...
A friend is one whom you turn to even though you know it is indeed that same friend who has hurt you the most...but you still find comfort in turning back to her and only her...Friends speak in silence and read each others eyes; not always though...sometimes you HAVE to speak rather than just assume and understand what you want to.
i agree ... even though there may be differences between 2 friends ... u cant forget them ... but i do beg to differ ... sometimes u have to let them go ... or walk away ... and not try to patch up ...
Nice pic and text ...couldnt describe it better
