The known to the unknown

One beautiful afternoon, saw a stranger across a crowded room. He asked me, "Can I please join you if noone else is coming". "Sure you can, no problem", I said. Thats where it all started... and here I was talking about the known to the unknown; unfamiliar. We introduced our languages, their origin; our history, its legends; the epics, their peculiarities; the knowledge, our expertise; the cultures, its uniqueness; the differences, yet similarities. Its strange we had loads to talk, though we were meeting each other for the first time.

“A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet.” ~ Will Rogers. This sounds so true now. Some days back he was someone who was neither a friend nor an acquaintance. Its today I share a smile, a look, a short talk and not to forget a 'Wassup!' without fail. He is Angel.

Its the Irony of Life... a stranger can make your day, life beautiful. He can become an indespensable part of the years to come on. While the one who has been with you all along, may seem to be no longer by your side. Its sometimes strange, you find comfort in a stranger!

you are a stranger so
What do I care?
Vanished today...

"Call no man a foe, but never love a stranger." ~ Stella Benson; still cant fathom...

hey good one! i guess its all about expections....we expect least from unknowns and hence a small bit feels great..on the other hand we expect a lot from our near and dear ones and sometimes i guess we ruin the relationships....

It’s about connecting with someone. Sometimes you connect with a 'hello' and other times you call someone a friend, know the person from years but the connection is still not there.

A stranger often offers a blank canvas to work on, and with times you have mastered every stroke to perfection!

I believe the two lines actually compliment really well to each other... “A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet.”, "Call no man a foe, but never love a stranger."
A stranger is not your enemy, but he may become a friend once you've met and you might eventually fall for him, but than he not a stranger anymore.

even we were strangers the day we met ...

what we are today is a question to be asked to ourselves ...

there is jus a "un" betn known and un-known...and u sometimes feel a "un', "ah"...etc...when talkin first time to a stranger.

once tht ice is broken... there is no "un" (hesitancy) and the unknown becomes the known.

though differing in just 2 alphabets, the difference between known and unknown is not so subtle...
the journey from unknown to known should be such that you do not sacrifice your known in the process of knowing the unknown...if this does happen, then the unknown, which just got converted to known, is in reality not "known"...it is just disguised as known.

@Sumedh, I agree with @meenakshi. Its a long journey to travel in order to add that prefix 'un' to known

@amit: hehe ;)

@kavin: Thanx :) It is indeed that gradual transition, but sometimes I think it just has to click!

@gIftoFwIngs: Dint get ya... plz explain

I had a great, long discussion with a friend of mine, my parents and sister on those exact same words...!! Reminds me of Serendipity - the movie

@Vikas, @Kavin: This can go into an endless discussion...

@Vikas: FYI, I did modify my Web according to people's needs ;) I know the 'about' frame is still bigger, but it hampers the readability if I change the length.

Howzzzaaat...!

People :)

Something else I can't comprehend with... Is the about section, about 'SALONI SONPAL'? Or is it about 'University of Buffalo - The State university of New York - Department of Computer Science and Engineering'? If someone bumps into your website out of the blue, he will have a hard time finding out who the pretty girl with naak mei baali, kan mei jhumka is? Yes, the email section tells me the name, but shouldn't the about link tell me about Saloni, if it’s her website?

I should have just used your email this time instead of commenting here! Well.. maybe next time if you are not totally pissed off at me for being nosy!

Stranger always(most of the cases) makes your life beautiful becoz you are

1. Curious to know things
2. Know a character
3. Know attitude
4. Know a similar/diff perspective

Summarizing them all the effect of conversation could be a like or dislike. In anycase that will make you happy becoz you would discover something new :)

Incase of known ppl like or dislike factor is already there so they would make your life nothing more than monotonous :D
