Make Someone's Day

There's one sad truth in life I've found
While journeying east and west
The only folks we really wound
Are those we love the best
We flatter those we scarcely know
We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.
~ Ella Wheeler Wilcox

When you realize you've made a mistake, make amends immediately. It's easier to eat crow while it's still warm. Play fair. Don't hit people. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Also in anger do not flare, forgiveness is the best revenge. Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness. Keep your words soft and tender because tomorrow you may have to eat them. A simple 'sorry' can prove resolving, wrath curbed can be dissolving. Religion is to do right. It is to love, it is to serve, it is to think, it is to be humble. Dont wait for Him to direct you, take the appropriate action... be wise! How beautiful a day can be, when kindness touches it! Lets make someone's day ... lets wipe those tears, come bring a smile :)

Just knew your name
we smiled at each other
then exchanged a word or two
it just went further

The silent soul you were
you hid the nice in you
then came a night a-sudden
it painted a different hue

We laughed, we shared
o'boy! sarcastic we could get
everything felt so fine
I treasure every moment

Then came the wave in your life
that I always wished
dint imagine it would bring the storm
'us', all would be finished

Prayers for your happiness
still did not stop
sailed through the menace
reached the shore, anchor I did drop

Us together, having fun
yesterday, it was all so pure
today when I talk after long
is it even right, not sure

Words, gestures, questions all precise
cant even cross the fence
what to say, have to think
I feel sad, it all appears a pretense.

To tap or not to tap...silly question!!

We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams. Dancing is like dreaming with your feet! It's what I always did...the laughter, the fun, the joy of dance. Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another. As aptly said : "Dance isn't a form it's a way of life"

To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking. The dance is a poem of which each movement is a word. There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Dance like nobody's looking. To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak. Why not dance yourself rather than look at others. You never know, your two left feet may tap the poem of your heart, which even words could not speak.

Dance, an Art Form
The Body, an Instrument
Learn To Play The Instrument
So You Can Master The Art Form.
-- Attributed to Debbie Dee.

While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance. Play the music, my feet will tap... my hands will swing. Even if I cry, dance can lift me high. I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself. Its the best way to let my feelings out, express my inner-self and elevate my spirits. What I feel, is on my face. Without dance I cannot feel my soul, hear my heart, or see my dreams.

Opportunity dances with those who are already on the dance floor. Move your body, he could fall in love. Offer a dance, the girl could be yours. Play the rythm, it may turn into a festive celebration. On your heart-beat, the Lord will dance on his two feet. If you wanna compete, dance seems to be the best feat.

Dance is indeed, the hidden language of the soul.

Why Leaves Change Color

Was staring outside the window and saw the branches of the trees bare. Was missing those wonderful colors the mixture of red, green, yellow, orange and purple, we admire in fall & also some subtle pinks, whites, blues and purples we appreciate at the advent of spring. Just googled over it and found it to be an interesting read.

- Every year people look forward to the colorful display of trees changing color. Although everyone looks for a "PEAK" when the colors are at their best, there is a long season for enjoying the colors. From the last week in September through the middle of November, you can find bright red, yellow, and scarlet foliage somewhere in the Carolinas.

- It is a popular misconception that cold and frost cause the tree to change to its autumn color. A quick frost or freeze only serves to shorten the span of a tree's coloration. -

- The best conditions for a beautiful autumn are just enough moisture and declining but not freezing temperatures. However, the colors are really based on day length. -

- As the days shorten and the nights get cooler, a chemical clock kicks in and releases a hormone that slows the sap flow to each leaf. Eventually, the leaf is sealed off from the branch and the green chlorophyll fades away to reveal the different chemical pigments that provide such bright colors. -

- Different species of trees change colors at various times. Dogwoods, maples, sweetguns are the first to show color. Whereas the oaks are the last species to change. Listed below are the colors you can expect from the various species of trees. -

If I cant I must, If I must I will

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Travel the untrodden and make the existing obsolete. Any one can hold the helm when the sea is calm. But to show your calm when things turn wild is the true test. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Motivation and inspiration is whats missing, once we have those two... the world will seem new.

"The history of the world is but the biography of great men." ~ Thomas Carlyle .The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible. They hoped for a brighter tomorrow, and we are enjoying the fruits today. They didnt wait to strike till the iron was hot; but made it hot by striking. Great spirits like those have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. Each time they were opposed, the brave withstood it. What got them there is a steady purpose, a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye. This purpose solely was their source of inspiration. They even had the courage to die for the revolution. This compelled the world to think!

Victory belongs to the most persevering. There are no gains without pains. You are never a loser until you quit trying; dont quit! Skill and confidence are an unconquered army. He who falls, learns to walk. Failure should not empower you, rather it should be transformed into the ladder to the success you aimed to achieve. So, go ahead... exert your talents, and distinguish yourself, and don't think of retiring from the world, until the world will be sorry that you retire. Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.

If you are the handicap you must face; you are the one who must choose your place. Happy are those who dream and are ready to pay the price to make those dreams come true. To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first. First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do. You can only if you think you can. If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes.

Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week. He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else. All things come to those who wait, but when they come they're out of date. You may be on the right track, but if you just sit there you'll get run over. So grab it while it lasts. There is no harm in giving it a shot. If you encounter failure dont get dejected. Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, this time more wisely.

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world. " ~ Mahatma Gandhi. Go make that difference, go get it!

Promise me you'll never forget me
togetherness it shall be
because if I thought you would
I wouldnt , how I could?

If today we depart
if life shall take us apart
love will keep us one
will miss you a ton

Will make every effort
to keep you in my heart
Sweet of you to care
This makes one think, I swear!

This song of one-none
goodbye is no fun
He got engrossed too
Will escape this, not even a few

chhoti chhoti si baat

Mom use to always hum this song to me, now I understand the meaning of it

Na jaane kyon, hota hai yeh zindagi ke saath
achanak ye man
kisi ke jaane ke baad, kare phir usiki yaad
chhoti chhoti si baat, na jaane kyon

Woman is the companion of man, gifted with equal mental capacity. However, If it's a woman, its caustic; if it's a man, it's authoritative. Some say women are misfits, some say manipulative, dominant, quarrelsome, sentimental, blah blah blah! But woman's grief is like a summer storm, short as it violent is. They say that women talk too much. If you have worked in congress you know that the filibuster was invented by men. Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, "She doesn't have what it takes." They will say, "Women don't have what it takes". If some woman on the road messes up when shes driving, the entire female gender is pointed at. Had women not controlled men from speeding up, rash driving, constantly keeping the speedometer under control... we would have to call it a day long back. If an unknown woman wore a short skirt and a tight sweater and her figure described a set of parabolas that could cause cardiac arrest in a yak. But if your own wife wore it, it would cause a bicker in the house. No matter how good she looks - no matter how sweet she talks - somebody, somewhere is sick and tired of putting up with her shit. The man earns all the money for the house it seems, but a retired husband is often a wife's full-time job. Well, I guess someone rightly said, "women are crazy, men are stupid. And the main reason women are crazy is that men are stupid." Being a woman is a terribly difficult task, since it consists principally in dealing with men.

Men out there, do you really care about the nice she wants to hear? A mother understands what a child does not say, but did you ever listen to what she wanted to tell you? Your wife waited for you until late night at the dinner table to hear that you already had dinner at your so-called "meeting". You always crib about your girl-friend to some other female-friend. Well if you really didnt like her, why did you fall in love with her ? (if u really did) The three words women most want to hear from a man are, "You lost weight". All a woman asks for is a little of love, only that she be able to feel like a heroine. I hope u agree, “A woman on time is one in nine”.

Be to her virtues very kind,
Be to her faults a little blind.
~ Matthew Prior

Hope this could be like an unsaid rule. Things would be so much better.
I'm sure all the men completely disagree to what I've said so far. They wanna pounce back in their defense. I'm sure you wanna say, 'its natural to oogle at beauty'. 'Its a pain to handle too many emotions & quarrels'. 'A woman wears her tears like jewelry'. 'Women make errors and so we are pin-pointing'. 'I hate women because they always know where things are'. 'Why cant she just stop being so complicated?' 'All women become like their mothers, that is their tragedy'. 'She just keeps ordering, I have no say'. I'm sure you also are uttering the words "Does this b***h also know what shes blabbering". Afterall, I am a woman above everything else.

Early in the morning...!

Well someone asked me "U r keeping very busy now-a-days! Whats on your agenda everyday". To start with...!

Just change the gender!

... all I had to say

The snow, the wind
the fragrance of passion
the beautiful pinks
music to add obsession

Together at home
n drove through the street
dont understand the reason
with hugs we meet

The laughs, the stares
those words unspoken
felt it was like
emotions over-flown

Our hearts disclose
Our thoughts unwind
whatever you may say
It was one of a kind

Your presence was over-whelming
dint know it wud be this way
love was in the air
thats the best I can say

It brought ectasy
like a light of ray
"Will you be my Valentine"
Is all I had to say

There were times
when you were around
then dint pay heed
though I was in need

Knew you inside out
the joy and the sorrow
let my side be to guess
it was, more or less

Held your hand when
you felt all so low
you would catch me fall
I dint have to call

We smiled over trivias
taunt was in our speech
felt hurt, patched close
questions it would pose

We shared a bond
that has no name
I ask myself now
together, but how?

Silence turned out resolving
was it really so?
today we stand unaware
dunno if life has been fair!

With or Without You

This song by U2, just too close to my heart. Guess the best day to even remember these words!

See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you

With or without you
With or without you
Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And I’m waiting for you

With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

My hands are tied
My body bruised, she’s got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you

With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you
With or without you
~ U2 (With or Without You)

Express Yourself

Express what you've got, b'coz if the right time is gone... you'll regret it.
If its happiness, share it.
If its sorrow, cry over it.
If its a joke, laugh at it.
If its defeat, learn from it.
If its love, say it.
If its a loss, confront it.
If its success, enjoy it.
If you are angry, yell at him.
If its an emotion, express it!

Do you often feel like your emotions are out of control? Do you fly off the handle at people who don't necessarily deserve it? Do you blow up over minor incidents? Do you find yourself wanting to cry over Anything ? Or maybe you're at the other extreme. Do you find it hard to get worked up over anything? Do you feel numb even though something upsetting has happened? Do you have every right to be furious, but you just don't feel anything? Are you cold in your responses, when a major reaction is expected out of you?

Experiencing and expressing emotions are integral parts of life. Yet, for many people, emotions remain mysterious, confusing, and difficult to express constructively. One should learn to incorporate emotions into your life in healthy ways, including how to express them in ways that are conducive to building healthy relationships.

For instance, in love its not always the diamond rings or the bed of roses. What you need is a big strong hand to lift you to a higher ground, Its that small hug/kiss which makes you feel special. Its the expression of love , expressing what you've got, whether ready or not... So you can respect yourself.

Another example is sorrow. Sorrow about a recent loss may evoke sadness from past losses. Rather than ignore or exaggerate your feelings, it is helpful to be able to take your feelings as they are, accept them, think about them, and learn from them.

Often feelings are more of interpretations of events more than to the events themselves. We see things the way we want to see them. Your interpretations can be made so rapidly and so automatically that you may not realize they are happening. Infact these interpretations or judgements are the culprits of the misunderstandings. So say what you feel, dont beat round the bush. Be direct, being straightforward may sound rude... but in the long run it helps. Theres nothing wrong in giving voice to the language of your heart, no harm in shedding tears or laughing at yourself.

Just as you have choices about how to interpret an event, you also have options about how to express those feelings you experience. For example, if a close friend is planning to move away, you may feel very sad about that. You have numerous ways of expressing this. For example, you can tell your friend how much you will miss him/her. Also, you can make a special effort to spend more time with him/her. These options may be painful at the time, but they give you the opportunity to express your feelings to your friend. On the other hand, you can avoid the friend until he/she leaves town so you won't have to say good-bye. Or you can stay busy making other friends so you won't miss this particular friend as much after he/she leaves. These choices may allow you to postpone or avoid painful feelings at the time, but they do not provide the opportunity for closure with your friend. The point is that you have options, and it's your decision.

Similarly, if its a great loss/defeat... be it studies, business, any game or even love. Try to confront it, share it and you'll find it easy to handle it. Dont worry about what the world will say. Today they'll mock, but tomorrow when they go through the same... the lesson will be learnt by them the harder way.

You maybe struggling with this process, like anyone else including me. Dont loose heart, be patient. Learning to experience and express your emotions is a life-long process. I'm still learning, just in 1st garde ;) are u even making an effort?

Missing You...!

Met you after a long while
Far we were a thousand mile

Not a bit had it changed
Display of emotions it ranged

Had ice-cream, pastries, home-made goodies
Was fun to share each of the niceties

Played a lot of pranks
Made trips to river banks

Spoke for long long hours
roamed around in bus, trains and cars

Shared the sorrow, and the laughs
Embraced the delicate facts

The moments we spend together
Will be treasured forever

Miss you every moment O'dear
We are so far, but near.
