BELIEVE IT OR NOT

GOD

GOD... this word itself runs a quick lightning through my body. The word in itself has so much strength. Its that belief in GOD that is natural to most, but not to all. Some may say it is just a ceramic idol... but to some it may mean the world. Its an individual's viewpoint. It still surprises me that how can a sight of an idol or even a small picture in my wallet could be a big source of motivation. What makes me worship the idol/picture? Is it the belief? Is the Lords heroic tales? I know it the values that my family engraved into me, but still it just comes so naturally.

GOD, that supernatural power whom I can share my thoughts, laughs, sorrow, achievements, downs, right, wrong, be it anything I cant always tell others. Hes that someone whom I fear. He makes me divert to the “Good” direction. Hes the one who inspires me to work harder to achieve what I desire. Hes the one who makes me what I'm. Its that one GOD whom I can trust when the world shows their back. Its the feeling of just being blessed by his presence , its so pure.

Also, the thought of there being no GOD around scares me. Its that one person (maybe not even a person) that I can confide in. Where would I get all my positive energy from? Where would I find those rays of enlightenment? Whom would I surrender myself to? Can I ever have the same degree of faith in someone else?

It leaves me pensive... Does this happen to you too?

MISUNDERSTANDING...THE ROOT CAUSE

Why do people always misunderstand? This question crosses my mind way too often. Is it because of lack of information? Or is it because of too much unwanted information? Whatever may be the cause...please say it out...it makes things easier, rather than pondering over it. I'm sure many become victims of this, so making this sincere effort of pulling people away from this whirlpool. All I would want to quote is:

"To understand a misunderstanding is an understanding in friendship;
But to have no misunderstanding is the most understood friendship."

THOSE WERE THE DAYS...!

If I sit and look back, each moment just flashes in front of my eyes. All the pranks, the fights, the laughs, the fun, the studies, the bitching, the merry-making, the trips, the pakaving, blah blah blah.

"MATRU DEVO BHAVA; PITRU DEVO BHAVA"

So very truly said in Hindu Mythology. Parents are another name for GOD. They are the most valuable asset I possess. These words are for them:

Love you Mom, you are my true friend
The day I was born, she held my hand

she 's responsible for today where I stand.
First step I walked, the sound of my voice,
these trivial things made her rejoice.
My first day at school I craved for her presence;
since then till today,I cannot forget her essence.
Made friends at college, stayed out late,
she would wait at the dinner table until I ate.
As the years pass by I grow old, independent
miles away we may be but my love for her
will always be incandescent.
We share tales,we share tears inspite of life's strange bend
she always makes me smile, shes my true friend.

Dad, You are a sweetheart
Grew as a tiny thing in your huge hands,

Followed him everywhere, be it winds or sands.
My motivation in life has been you,
This inspiration & appreciation is for a fortunate few.
Learnt to be bold, learnt to face the truth,
You told me, work hard to achieve the fruit.
We laughed in moments of travel & joy,
Cant forget those cakes, O'boy.
You never failed to stand by my side in sorrow,
Always showed me a brighter tomorrow.
I wanted, you would also give me a crown,
But would never let me frown.
Wishing you the very best on this day,
"May God Bless You" is all I have to say.

IT LOOKED LIKE A DREAM ONCE UPON A TIME

Had I not been in USA, sports like Golf, Tennis, Racketball, Squash, American Football, Roller-blading all seemed like a dream. But I cud do all this after coming here.

Besides the sports I played in India like cricket, valleyball, basketball, soccer, cycling, swimming, skating, skiing, adventure sports , etc. I played various sports after coming here. Started with playing Squash/Racketball for tp. Then in Florida got an opportunity to get hands on Golf. Driving the Puts was fun. Played American Football over the weekend, not tackling though but Touch-football was indeed a gr8 experience. Have been trying my shots in Tennis, be it sixes, boundaries or even nets ;) Also had done skating on 4 wheels, however roller-blading just looked too difficult. Trust me it took 2 mins to get myself to balance on the roller-blades. Was a lot of fun. (Adding, 03/10/06) I tried my hand at ice-skating, it was great I dint even fall ;)

Sports truly r fun....have been enjoying every bit of it :))

ENLIGHTEN YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE ATTITUDE

ENLIGHTEN YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Everyday is a new day. So why not keep yourself motivated. Looking into the present & future - highly recommended. Rhetrospecting doesnt always help. To start with, some extra-ordinary words of wisdom towards positive attitude.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will.
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.

And many a failure turns about.
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow
–You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
–It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
